John Lamond is one of the world’s leading authorities on Scotch Whisky.  The winner of the prestigious “Master of Malt” title in 1987, he is the author of The Malt Whisky File, The Whisky Connoisseur’s Book of Days, The Whisky Connoisseur’s Companion and Le Snob Whisky and contributes to magazines worldwide on the wider subject of:  Drink.

He is a Keeper of the Quaich.

He created - and tutors - The Scotch Whisky Trail Certificate Course, the world’s first Scotch Whisky evening class.  He has also created The Advanced Whisky Course to further the knowledge and appreciation of students who have completed The Scotch Whisky Trail Certificate Course.  He is a lecturer to Wine & Spirit Education Trust Intermediate and Advanced Certificate students around Scotland and he is a member of the Association of Wine Educators.

In addition, he enjoys a couple of weeks “off” in the autumn when, for the Scottish Licensed Trade News Awards he judges the Malt Whisky Bar of the Year and Restaurant of the Year Awards.

He carries out whisky tastings - and wine tastings - for interested consumers, restaurateurs, hoteliers and corporate events.  If you are interested in a bespoke tutored tasting, either as an educational tool for your business or as entertainment for your staff or customers, then contact John direct at john@johnlamond.com.
